Johnson does not want to quit and intends to fight for the post of leader of the Conservatives

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who announced his resignation, said in a private conversation that he does not want to leave office and intends to fight for the post of leader of the Conservative Party in the general election.

Johnson said this in a conversation with Lord Kraddas, a member of the House of Lords.

“He said he would like to remain prime minister. He said he didn’t want to retire,” Kraddas said.

On July 7, Johnson announced his decision to step down as Prime Minister of Great Britain and leader of the country’s Conservative Party.

He will continue to fulfill his duties until the election of a new head of the cabinet of ministers.
