Key ISIS leader killed in apparent U.S. strike in Syria

The United States strike in Syria killed the key ISIS leader Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, told a U.S. defence official. According to Reuters, Adnani was one of the last living senior ISIS members.

On Tuesday, key ISIS leader killed in the U.S. strike in Syria told the defence official to Reuter. Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was one of the founders of ISIS, along with self-appointed caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. In 2014 he started his ISIS-activity by seizing huge tracts of Iraq and Syria.

Adnani, born in 1977, was the head of external operations, he was in charge of attacks in France, Belgium and Turkey, said the ISIS spokesman. The US air strikes that have killed several of the group’s leaders, undermining its organisational ability and dampening its morale. Islamic State published a eulogy dated August 29 but gave no details about the death of its key leader.
