Kim Jong-un declared readiness for any military clashes with the United States

North Korea is “fully prepared for any military clashes with the United States.” This was stated by the country’s leader Kim Jong-un in his speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the end of the Korean War (1950-1953), which took place on Wednesday.

“The United States mistakenly calls all of our daily activities provocations and threats, and at the same time they themselves conduct large-scale joint exercises that seriously threaten our national security. This is literally gangster behavior that pushes relations between the DPRK and the United States to conflict, and to irreversible,” he said.

According to him, the DPRK armed forces are therefore fully prepared to respond to any crisis, and its nuclear deterrence forces will also demonstrate power “accurately and quickly” in accordance with their mission.

In addition, Kim Jong-un said that the South Korean army “will be destroyed” in the event of an attempt to attack the DPRK.

“If the South Korean regime and military bandits think to attack us and believe that they can neutralize or destroy part of our military power preemptively based on certain military means or methods, they are mistaken,” the DPRK leader said.

The anniversary of the end of the Korean War is the national holiday of the DPRK. The fighting on the Korean Peninsula began on June 25, 1950 and ended on July 27, 1953. A coalition of 17 states led by the United States fought on the side of South Korea against the DPRK, which was supported by China and the Soviet Union.

The fighting ended with the signing of an armistice agreement at the Phanmunjom border checkpoint in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. At the same time, the war has not been formally stopped to this day, since a full-fledged peace treaty has not yet been signed.
