Kim Jong-un meets South Korean president Moon Jae-in

Kim-Jong un’s meeting with South Korea’s president for the second time was held to discuss peace commitments from both Koreas but it also touched on the now-cancelled meeting between leaders of North Korea and the United States, Mirror reported on Monday.

The aborted US-NK peace summit didn’t ruin the plans of South Korean leader Moon Jae-in and his North Korean counterpart, they met in the truce village of Panmunjom on Monday. The unpredictable Donald Trump cancelled the meeting with Kim scheduled to take place in Singapore.

Two leaders of Koreas were warmly embracing alongside more formal pictures of them shaking hands, their Monday’s meeting was held to discuss the latest developments in the foreign policy and future cooperation.

Despite Mr Trump axed Singapore summit with a fiery letter on Thursday that accused Kim Jong-un’s regime of “tremendous anger and open hostility”, later he praised a “warm and productive statement” from North Korea after the secretive state released footage appearing to show it demolishing its nuclear test site in Punggye-ri.

On Friday, Pyongyang released dramatic footage of it reportedly destroying its nuclear site. The clips showed a giant blast in the countryside, leaving behind piles of rubble and a large dust cloud while invited western journalists looked on.
