Laos to help Vietnam to fight COVID-19

Laos to help Vietnam to fight COVID-19

Laos organizations have offered financial support to the government and people of Vietnam to cope with their fight against the corona pandemic.

The northern mountainous province of Dien Bien in Vietnam has received about $10,000 from different Laos organizations to support the struggle against the non-stop epidemic. On Tuesday, Secretary and Governor of Luang Prabang province Khamkhan Chanthavisuk,  came to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Luang Prabang on June 8 to hand the cheque.

Later, representatives from Xayabury province also went to the Vietnamese Consulate General to present about $27,600 to assist the other five provinces of Vietnam.

The two neighbouring countries, Laos and Vietnam, have accelerated cooperation and friendship during the hardest-ever pandemic period.  On Tuesday, the Lao side wished that the Vietnamese Consulate General and localities would actively work with northern Lao localities to share experience in coping with the outbreak.

They expressed their belief that the government and people of Vietnam will soon curb and win over the pandemic, Vietnam Plus reports.

Vietnamese Consul General in Luang Prabang Nguyen Dang Hung thanked the Lao friends for their meaningful and timely gifts and vowed to send the donations to Vietnam soon to finish the fragile period of the COVID pandemic.
