Leipzig protests against energy prices

In the largest city of the German state of Lower Saxony, Leipzig, protests began against the government’s policy in the field of electricity and energy prices.

The protest, as reported on the website of the left party, was convened by seven o’clock in the evening local time on one of the central squares of the city. The Leipzig police department could not name the approximate number of protesters at the moment.

According to the German media correspondents present, several thousand people are participating in the demonstration.
