London will file complaints in a case of a death sentence for British mercenaries in the DPR

London is appealing a possible death sentence that threatens two British mercenaries in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for participating in hostilities on the side of Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of the United Kingdom Dominic Raab

“Regarding this case, I do not know all the details, but of course we expect that the law applicable during armed conflicts will be respected, and we guarantee that we will file all [necessary in this case] complaints. I know that the UK Foreign Office will ensure that these complaints are filed without fail,” the minister assured.

Earlier it became known that the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office completed an investigation and submitted to the court the case of British citizen Aiden Aslin, who took part in the hostilities in Ukraine as a mercenary on the side of Kyiv. The department stressed that, given the wartime, the mercenary faces capital punishment – the death penalty.
