President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will pay a state visit to China from February 28 to March 2, his press service reported.
“This visit will be a continuation of the long-term course of building friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with the People’s Republic of China,” the release says.
In Beijing, Lukashenko will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the talks will be held in narrow and expanded formats. It is expected that as a result of them a large package of documents on the development of relations in key areas will be signed.
“The focus will be on the development of trade, economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation, the implementation of joint large-scale projects, interaction in the political sphere, and response to the most acute challenges in the current international situation,” the press service added.
In addition, the Belarusian president will hold meetings with top officials of the PRC and the leadership of leading Chinese corporations.
Lukashenka and Xi Jinping met in September 2022 on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Samarkand. Then they adopted a joint declaration on bringing relations to a new level – an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership.
