The owner of the French luxury goods manufacturer LVMH (LVMH Moet Hennessy – Louis Vuitton) Bernard Arnault topped the annual ranking of the richest people in the world according to Forbes, displacing Elon Musk, the publication reports.

Arno’s fortune is estimated at 211 billion dollars, a year ago it was 158 billion. According to Forbes, the owner of LVMH became the first Frenchman to top the ranking.

Second place is occupied by the former leader of the ranking, Musk, whose fortune is estimated at $180 billion, in 2022 it was $219 billion. The decline in Musk’s fortune is linked by the publication to the purchase of Twitter last year, which contributed to the collapse of the capitalization of his company Tesla.

Third on the list is Jeff Bezos. The fortune of the founder of the online retailer Amazon this year is 114 billion dollars after 171 billion a year earlier.


The fourth position is occupied by the head of Oracle Larry Ellison, whose fortune has increased to 107 billion dollars from 106 billion. Rounding out the top five is well-known investor Warren Buffett, whose wealth this year totals $106 billion, down from $118 billion a year ago.


And the total wealth of the world’s billionaires, according to Forbes, is $12.2 trillion, which is $0.5 billion less than a year ago. The number of billionaires in the world has also decreased – to 2640 from 2668 a year earlier.
