Matt Damon will appear in Ocean’s 8 by Gary Ross

Matt Damon will play the small cameo in Ocean’s 8, the new movie about Danny Ocean and his marvellous team will be directed by Gary Ross. The Ocean’s series is relaunching, many Hollywood stars are taking part in it. Brad Pitt and George Clooney are still thinking about the idea of appearing in Garry Ross’ movie.

Matt Damon announced his taking part in the new project, Ocean’s 8 by Gary Ross features a mostly female cast. Among the stars we will see popular actresses like Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, and Mindy Kaling. The upcoming movie has a small cameo for Matt, he was playing in the legendary Oceans 11-13 episodes as Linus Caldwell, a skilled pickpocket.

In a recent interview with EW, Mr Damon informed his fans on his filming a small cameo for Ocean’s 8. Matt explained:

“I’m doing a little bit in the movie. I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”

While it does feature an all new cast, Ocean’s 8 does take place in the same universe as the other three films, so Damon might not be the only familiar face to show up once all is said and done.

Ocean’s 8 is being directed by Gary Ross, who also co-wrote the script with Olivia Milch. The film is set to star Sandra Bullock Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Dakota Fanning, Helena Bonham Carter, Damian Lewis, Erick West, and Awkwafina.

The Ocean’s franchise was originally adapted from the 1960 original, which starred Rat Pack members Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, and Angie Dickinson.

The director Steven Soderberg decided to revive such a wonderful movie and invited best of the best actors to play the team of  sly and charming Danny Ocean. In the Soderberg’s 2001 remake, George Clooney and Brad Pitt took the reigns and put a talented team together that spanned three films in a row.

The cast for Ocean’s 8 included Bernie Mac, Elliott Gould, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Shaobo Qin, Carl Reiner, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Julia Roberts, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The franchise has been dormant since 2007, and with such a talented potential cast, the odds are good that we’ll see another trilogy of films soon.
