Mexico is warning its North neighbour against imposing a Trump’s measure regarding the financing of the border wall. It was about the unilateral tax on Mexican imports, but Mexico said it could respond in kind.
Donald Trump promised while the addressing the Conservative Political Action Congress (CPAC) in Maryland on Friday, that Americans will be protected ith the wall on the border with Mexico. According to nation leader, it will be “great, great border wall”.
“We’re building the wall. In fact, it’s going to start very soon. Way ahead of schedule. It’s way, way, way ahead of schedule.”
The Mexican minister Luis Videgaray responded to the US, he said his government could place tariffs on selected goods from the United States reliant on exports to Mexico.
In the first week of March, the USA will start to accept the design proposals of the future wall, the shortlist of the best designs will be available by 20 March. According to Donald Trump the wall is going to be built very fast, ahead of all schedules, that’s why the commercial contracts are expected to be awarded by mid-April.
Earlier, the US President has pledged that Mexico will pay for the wall, which could cost up to $21.5bn (£17.2bn), according to the figures of the Department of Homeland Security’s internal report.
