NATO Secretary General believes that the West will increase arms supplies to Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that Western countries will soon increase the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine.

According to Stoltenberg, NATO allies know that Ukraine needs battle tanks like the German Leopard 2.

“And this will be one of the topics that we will discuss in Ramstein (an American air base in Germany). Ukraine will be represented there. The recent promises to provide heavy military equipment are very important, and I expect more in the near future,” the alliance secretary general said.

According to him, he expects that following the meeting on January 20 in Ramstein, supporters of Ukraine will be able to announce new military assistance.

“I  welcome very much the decision of Germany and the United States on the supply of armored personnel carriers. As well as the agreement of France to supply light battle tanks. I am sure that other allies will also announce new assistance in Ramstein,” Stoltenberg said.

According to him, the decisive phase of the conflict is now underway. “We are experiencing fierce battles. Therefore, it is important that we provide Ukraine with the weapons necessary for victory and for the continuation of the existence of an independent state. It may seem paradoxical, but military support for Ukraine is the fastest path to peace,” the NATO Secretary General said.
