Nigeria made face mask mandatory

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the decree, which makes facemask wearing mandatory.

A new Nigerian COVID-19 Disease Health Protection 2021 requires using of face masks in public places, AllAfrica reported. The mandatory regulation aimed at curbing corona epidemic in the African country.

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 was established in Nigeria last year. Its chief, Mr Boss Mustapha, said the face masks is the urgent need to protect the health and wellbeing of Nigerians.

The regulations, which are six parts, made the use of face masks in public places mandatory.

The document stipulates the stricter health protocol and places a restriction on gathering. As an illustration, the physical two-metre distance is maintained at all times between persons and that not more than 50 persons should stay in an enclosed space, except for religious purposes.
