Orban called on Europe to conclude a security agreement with Russia.

Brussels must conclude an agreement with Moscow on the future of European security, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.

“Of course, we must conclude an agreement with Russia on the future of European security,” he said, speaking at an economic forum in Qatar.

Speaking about the future of the EU itself, the politician noted that there are two ways to look at the situation. According to him, Brussels wants to create a “United States of Europe”, and some countries, including Hungary, on the contrary, are in favor of expanding the national competencies of the member states of the Union.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said he had offered his colleague Sergei Lavrov and head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andriy Yermak “a place for peace talks at any time.” The diplomat noted that “the current European and transatlantic context” has developed “not in favor of peace,” which “most people want.”
