Poland began to build an arms depot for the US military

An arms depot has begun to be built in Powidz, Poland, where the US battalion combat group is stationed, Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak told reporters.

“Today we are starting the implementation of the investment, which will end in April 2024,” Blashak said. He explained that “an ammunition depot intended for the brigade combat team of the US forces” is being built in Powidze.

According to the minister, this year the construction of a warehouse complex for military vehicles will also be completed here, which will quickly equip a brigade combat group. He explained that the purpose of the construction is to create conditions for the troops of the allies, primarily the United States, to be equipped with weapons, and in a crisis situation to really support the Polish Army.

The Polish minister specified that the construction of warehouses for the American brigade is financed by Poland, NATO and the United States.

Blaszczak recalled that a total of 12,000 American troops were stationed in Poland.
