Romania denied the information about the movement of air defense to the border with Moldova.

The Romanian Ministry of Defense announced the spread of fake news online about the movement of Romanian air defense systems to the border with Moldova.

“We are reporting the emergence of fake news in the online environment about the so-called recent “relocation” of some air defense systems from the Romanian army to the border with Moldova. The video material used in posts on this topic posted on various online platforms, in which, among other things, featuring Himars and Gepard systems from Romanian military units, was filmed at the end of November 2022 in the center of Alba Iulia, on the occasion of preparations for a military ceremony organized in honor of the National Day of Romania,” the Romanian Ministry of Defense reports on its Facebook page.

The ministry noted that the said video was posted on social networks with the caption “Romanian air defense systems advancing to the border with the Republic of Moldova this morning“, which is not true.
