Russia was called the main defender of its desire for independence in Palestine.

The Palestinians see Russia as one of the main defenders of their desire for self-determination and independence, Musa Abu Marzouk, head of the international relations department of the Palestinian movement Hamas, said following his visit to Moscow and talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.

“Russia is one of the most important supporters of the realization of the Palestinian people’s rights to their future, self-determination and independence,” Abu Marzouk said.

According to him, this visit is different from those that preceded it, due to the changes that are taking place in the region and the world, since the Russian military operation in Ukraine “caused extreme confusion in the world and in the international system.” According to one of the leaders of Hamas, for changes in the Middle East arena, the Palestinians also need consultations, the exchange of information, and a constant reminder of their rights.
