Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to negotiations, the Kremlin has heard many statements by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron about their desire to maintain contacts with the Russian leader, but lately there have been no initiatives from Paris and Berlin.

“Putin was and remains open to any contacts that can help Russia achieve its own goals in one way or another,” Peskov said.

In Moscow, according to the press secretary, they heard many statements by Scholz and Macron about their readiness to continue dialogue with Putin in order to find a way out of the situation.

“However, there have been no initiatives lately,” Peskov stated.
