German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the time had not yet come for talks on Ukraine.

“The moment that opens up the prospect of peace has not yet arrived,” Scholz said in an interview, adding that this is the reason why he will speak “again and again” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, “to convince him that everything not the way he sees it.”

Scholz noted that the leadership of the Russian Federation allegedly “currently accepts only one form of negotiations“, which provides for “unconditional surrender” of the other side.

According to the chancellor, it is necessary to hope for the moment when “honest negotiations will be possible, which will lead to acceptable, correct results for the Ukrainians.
