Sinopharm, Serbia to produce COVID-19 vaccine

Sinopharm, the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer, will help Serbia to produce antiviral drug locally. In the frame of cooperation, Beijing will provide more high-quality Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment products and services.

The new Chinese-Serbian vaccine project will start soon, making Serbia the first European country to produce the Sinopharm vaccine against the novel pathogen.

The video conference with representatives from Sinopharm and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo took place on Thursday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed.

For Serbia, a small nation, it is the right time to promote the localized production of the Sinopharm jab and the legalization of TCM diagnosis and treatment in Serbia.

President Vucic also thanked the Chinese government and Sinopharm for providing medical supplies and 2 million vaccine doses, which effectively alleviated the pressure of Serbia in controlling COVID-19, Global Times has learned.
