Slovakia decided to decommission its MiG-29s and thought about transferring them to Ukraine

Slovak Defense Minister Yaroslav Nagy said that it is planned to withdraw the MiG-29 supersonic fighters from the Republic’s Air Force, Slovak radio reports.

As specified, the aircraft were used by the country for 30 years. They are planned to be presented to the public at the international air show SIAF 2022 on August 27-28, after which, from September 1, the Czech and Polish air forces will protect the Slovak sky in accordance with the previously reached agreement.


The head of the Ministry of Defense offered to transfer the MiG-29 to Ukraine, while stating that no decision had been made on this issue.
