SpaceX launched the satellites of its competitor OneWeb into orbit.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX company launched into orbit the satellites of its competitor in the field of satellite Internet company OneWeb, which Russia refused to cooperate with.

The Falcon-9 rocket was launched Thursday at 5:27 pm ET from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The broadcast was conducted on the official website of SpaceX.

“The deployment of OneWeb satellites has been completed,” the statement said.

According to OneWeb, we are talking about launching 40 satellites into orbit. They will expand the OneWeb grouping to just over 500 devices, nearly 80% of the planned total.

OneWeb satellites are designed to provide high-speed Internet access to users around the world by 2027. It is competing with Starlink, a project with similar goals launched by SpaceX in February 2018.
