Spain’s PM urges people to stop wearing ties to save energy

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez urged ministers, officials and business leaders not to wear a tie unnecessarily – so in the heat you can save electricity that is spent on the operation of air conditioners.

The Spanish prime minister came to a press conference on Friday without a tie. Sanchez noted that in this way he sets an example on how to reduce the use of air conditioning, which consumes electricity, the agency notes.

“I am without a tie. This means that we can all save in terms of energy. And I asked all ministers and all officials, and the private sector, as far as possible, so that they do not use a tie unnecessarily. And so we will all save ” Sanchez said.
