Spain’s Queen Letizia drives Princess Leonor on first day in school

Queen Letizia of Spain looked like a common mum when she dropped her two daughters to the Madrid school gates on the first day. September is full of school events, and the Royals are also happy to see their kids in the school.

The 44-year-old monarch just beamed as she pulled up at Santa Maria De Los Rosales school in Madrid with her two girls. Both daughters Princess Leonor (11) and Infanta Sofia (10) have followed in the footsteps of their father, King Felipe VI, in becoming pupils at the Madrid school.

There were many other mothers who were happy to see Queen Letizia and to chat with the monarch while they were accompanying her daughters inside. The wife of King Felipe was smiling as she made her way back down the school steps.

Letizia in Madrid school

Last week, whole the world was watching how Prince George was accompanied by his father Prince William for his first day of big school. This week, Queen Letizia of Spain did the school run with her daughter Princess Leonor this morning. The Spanish royal looked stylish wearing the blue rolled up jeans, jacket and the white sneakers – that low-key outfit for the occasion was highly appreciated by the fashion critics.

Princess Sofia was snapped smiling in the back of the car – perhaps excited at the prospect of being reunited with her classmates after the summer holidays. Both princesses looked smart in their matching school uniforms.
