Sweden called a possible date for agreeing on new sanctions against Russia.

Sweden called a possible date for agreeing on new sanctions against Russia.

Swedish European Affairs Minister Jessica Roswall said she expects the 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia to be agreed by the EU summit on June 29-30.

Sweden, which is currently chairing the EU Council, is holding a meeting of the EU General Affairs Council in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss preparations for the European summit.

“In preparation for the EU summit in June, we, as the EU Council Presidency, are working hard to prepare a new package of sanctions against Russia. At the moment, work is ongoing, and I hope to have it in time for the EU summit in June,” the minister said.
