Tatneft and Gazprom will be forced to pay compensation to the Polish Orlen

Tatneft and Gazprom will be forced to pay compensation to the Polish Orlen

The head of the group of companies, Daniel Obaitek, said that the Polish energy concern Orlen plans to try to get compensation from Russian companies for cutting off oil and gas supplies.

“We will consider this issue. All this is contained in the agreements, which I cannot talk about. The issue of compensation from Russia is being studied,” the top manager said.

Orlen still has an oil supply contract with the Russian Tatneft, which is valid until December 2024. According to it, the Polish concern bought 200 thousand tons of raw materials per month. However, on February 27, Transneft announced the termination of the transportation of goods due to the lack of route orders. As a result, deliveries are excluded from the export schedule, which is approved by the Ministry of Energy.
