The US Air Force has begun testing hypersonic missiles carried by the RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle.

Tests of RQ-4 Global Hawk UAVs equipped with hypersonic missiles are allegedly taking place in the Aleutian Islands in the Bering Sea between Alaska and Kamchatka

Under these tests, a program has been launched to upgrade the RQ-4B Global Hawk family of strategic UAVs to improve their flight characteristics, such as flight duration and altitude, payload and new intelligence gathering capabilities.
