The British “daughter” of “Gazprom” said that he did not know about the plans of London to take her under personal control.Broomberg recently announced that the UK government plans to temporarily take personal control of Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail (Gazprom Energy’s parent company). Gazprom’s retail supply division Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail may be subject to a “special management regime”.According to the agency, this decision may be taken if the company is unable to provide supplies due to growing pressure on Russian business against the backdrop of events in Ukraine.
“We are in constant contact with the relevant regulatory authorities and are not aware of any decision taken to place Gazprom Energy under state control,” the statement said.
Gazprom Energy indicated that parent company Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail supplies gas to Gazprom Energy consumers from wholesale energy markets and is independent of gas supplies from Russia and has no contracts with Moscow.
“Our customers in the UK receive their gas in the same way as from any other supplier – through the national gas transmission network, which is owned, managed and operated by National Grid,” explained Gazprom Energy.
