The Bulgarian authorities had disagreements over the payment for Russian gas in rubles

Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, in an interview with the Guardian, spoke about the disagreements that have arisen among the country’s authorities regarding the payment of Russian gas in rubles and the shipment of weapons to Ukraine.

According to the Bulgarian prime minister, the country’s president, Rumen Radev, did not agree with the government’s decision to refuse to pay for gas under the scheme proposed by the Russian Federation in rubles. In addition, he spoke categorically against sending weapons to Ukraine.

In connection with the current situation, Petkov expressed concern that in the absence of the opportunity to create a new coalition in the country’s attitude towards what is happening in Ukraine, there may be a “shift”.

At the same time, the transitional government may agree to the gas payment scheme proposed by Gazprom in rubles.
