The Congress demanded that Blinken clearly clarify the tasks of the United States in Ukraine.

Ohio Republican Warren Davidson on Thursday sent a letter to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, demanding that the latter clearly clarify the US tasks in Ukraine before the allocation of new financial assistance by Congress, writes the Daily Caller, which was able to read the text of the appeal.

“U.S. officials and the State Department have offered many different theories regarding our involvement in the events in Ukraine. One view suggests that the United States is seeking a peaceful resolution to the current conflict in Ukraine and preventing it from spreading to NATO member countries. Another view is that the United States is seeking neutralize the entire military presence of Russia in Ukraine, and many mean by this, including Crimea,” Davidson, who represents the House Foreign Affairs Committee, says in a letter.

As the congressman noted, he “needs to clarify” whether the statements of US officials correspond to the real goals of Washington’s continued support for Ukraine, or whether there are “other tasks.”

“The American people and Congress are becoming increasingly skeptical about the US involvement in the events in Ukraine due to the fact that the Biden administration does not give clear answers to questions about specific goals,” the lawmaker emphasizes.

In his opinion, without a clearly defined goal from the White House, Congress “cannot make informed political decisions or require the executive branch to report on the achievement of this mission.”

“The administration has been acting blind for too long,” Davidson concluded.
