The Czech Republic condemned Germany for the possible launch of Nord Stream 2 due to the gas crisis

Trinity Bank chief economist Lukasz Kovanda predicted Germany’s “shameful” launch of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in autumn or winter

According to Kovanda, Berlin may take such a step because of the ongoing drought and the decline in the water level in the Rhine, which interferes with shipping and the supply of German power plants with coal. He stressed that this increases the likelihood that Germany will find itself in an even more difficult situation in the fall or winter.

“And, perhaps, she will have to go to the distribution of energy or the shameful launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline,” the expert suggested.

Kovanda noted that possible difficulties will play into the hands of Russia. According to him, greens and environmentalists are trying to “blame the sharp rise in electricity prices on Vladimir Putin, or rather on his special operation in Ukraine.”

“In fact, this is primarily the result of the fatal failure of the energy policy they are promoting known as the “energy transition,” he wrote, adding that this only increased Germany’s dependence on Russian gas.
