The EU believes that the new sanctions against Russia are over.

The media reports that the EU believes that the new sanctions against Russia are over — if there are more restrictions, the list of exceptions to them will grow.

“We’re done. If we impose more sanctions, there will be more exceptions than measures,” the message says.

The media writes that many officials recognize that areas of the Russian economy that are not affected by restrictions produce vital products or services for some European countries, so restrictive measures in these areas will be vetoed.

Officials working on the next package of sanctions said that the new measures will probably be limited only to expanding the list of persons involved. In addition, work is underway to “close loopholes” in the execution of existing restrictions, as the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said earlier.
