The European Union proposed to start planning the restoration of Ukraine now.

The EU believes that the restoration of Ukraine must be planned now, since “a lot of work lies ahead,” Ana Pisonero, a representative of the European Commission, said at a briefing in Brussels.

“The EU is ready to play a leading role in the recovery of Ukraine. As you know, the G7 agreed to create a coordination platform, the European Commission offered to host the secretariat. It is clear that huge resources will be required for long-term recovery and it is necessary to coordinate the efforts of all those involved – EU , member countries, European financial institutions, international organizations, the private sector, etc. It is important to start planning work now, although at this stage the main efforts, of course, are aimed at meeting Ukraine’s urgent financial needs,” the EC representative said.
