The former head of the British Ministry of Health was removed from his post as a member of parliament.

Former British Health Secretary during the pandemic Matt Hancock has been ousted from his Conservative MP position over his decision to appear on the British reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

“After talking with Matt Hancock, I’ve thought about the situation and I think it’s a serious enough issue to warrant immediate removal from office,” said Simon Hart, coordinator of the Conservative parliamentary faction.

According to a close source, Hancock has no plans to continue serving in Parliament, so being on the “most watched show” is a great opportunity for him to “interact with the 12 million Britons who play (the show) every night.

Hancock must now travel to Australia, where the program is set to live in the jungle with other high-profile contestants and compete for the title of King or Queen of the Jungle. The producers agreed that under urgent circumstances he would be able to contact his team in Brittany.

Initially, Hancock turned down the offer to participate in the show due to political instability in the government, but after the appointment of Rishi Sunak as prime minister, he changed his mind.

Conservatives in his constituency expressed dissatisfaction with the decision. A spokesman for Downing Street said that “at such a challenging time for the country, MPs must work hard for the good of their constituencies.” He noted that he did not have information about whether Hancock consulted with Sunak before making a decision.
