The German concern Rheinmetall introduced a replacement for the Leopard 2 tank

The German concern Rheinmetall at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris (France) presented the main tank KF51 Panther, equipped with a 130-mm cannon

The Panther KF51 is Rheinmetall’s new main battle tank, setting unprecedented standards in lethality, protection, survivability, reconnaissance, networking and mobility.

A promising combat vehicle can become a replacement for the Leopard 2 tank, and also, due to the interest of potential buyers, jeopardize the implementation of the Franco-German project of the main tank.

The 65-ton machine, designed from scratch, received a 130 mm Future Gun System (FGS) cannon, active and passive protection systems, a 12.7 mm machine gun, an additional remote-controlled weapon station and the ability to launch HERO 120 loitering ammunition, drones and rockets.

The crew of the tank is three to four people.
In February, Rheinmetall introduced the Lynx 120 combat vehicle with a smoothbore tank gun.
