The head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that relations between the United States and China have fallen to a critical level.

Sino-US relations are currently going through a critical phase as a result of US China policy, and Washington needs to learn from this, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

“Wang Yi said that Sino-US relations have been seriously affected today, and the United States needs to learn from this. This relationship is at a critical juncture, and both sides urgently need to find the right path to (…) prevent it from falling further.” , the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement about Wang Yi’s meeting with Blinken on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

According to the Foreign Ministry, “Wang Yi focused on the recent misconduct of the United States on the Taiwan issue.”

He pointed out, in particular, that the Taiwan issue concerns and is his internal affair. The current US administration’s actions contradict its claims that it does not support “Taiwan independence.” Thus, the US is “trying to undermine China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
