The head of the Ministry of Education of Germany did not rule out the possibility of canceling classes due to the situation with gas

Classes in educational institutions in Germany may be limited or even canceled due to interruptions in gas supply. This warning was issued by the German Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger.

“I did my best during the [coronavirus] pandemic to consider educational institutions as critical infrastructure,” said Stark-Watzinger. “Even now, we need to pay special attention to them so that there are no restrictions in training or even cancellation of classes,” she added.

Nevertheless, the idea of the need to save electricity is being actively discussed in many schools and universities, the minister admitted.

On July 2, the head of the Federal Network Agency, Klaus Müller, did not rule out the possibility of a complete cessation of gas supplies from Russia and called on the Germans to save energy.
