The head of the Norwegian Ministry of Defense supported the training of Ukrainians to pilot the F-16.

Norway supports the training and education of Ukrainian personnel on F-16 fighters, Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said in an interview.

The Norwegian F-16 aircraft completed their mission for the Norwegian Defense Forces in 2022, broadcaster NRK reported. They were replaced by F-35 fighters.

“Norway will consider various ways to contribute to the training of Ukrainian personnel on the F-16 fighter jet,” Gram said in an interview.

He added that the Norwegian government supports such an initiative. The country’s authorities are now considering how they can contribute to the education and training of Ukrainian pilots.

Ukrainian pilots are already being trained in the use of F-16 fighters in Poland and some other countries, and this week Denmark announced that it wants to play a key role in training Ukrainian fighter pilots, the broadcaster reports.
