The head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (AP) of Moldova, Veronika Dragalin, denied the opposition’s accusations that she was elected to this position illegally.

A political scandal broke out in Chisinau, the administration of the President of Moldova announced the hacking of Maia Sandu’s official Telegram channel. It constantly appeared in the publication, which told about the alleged acts of corruption by the head of the Ministry of Justice, Sergei Litvinenko. The authors of the message also assured that they received the minister’s personal correspondence from his phone, so they have information that they discussed with interested parties the fabrication of the procedure for electing Dragalin to her post. Litvinenko called the publications “fake”, but a number of officials whose names appeared in the correspondence admitted that they had discussed with the minister.

Against the backdrop of the scandal, the Shor and Socialist opposition parties in Moldova demanded Draglin’s resignation and called on the Prosecutor General’s Office to launch a criminal investigation into the published correspondence of Moldovan officials, who probably influenced the procedure for electing the head of the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office.
