Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva said that there is a gradual abandonment of the use of the US dollar in the world.

Commenting on the prospects of using this currency on a global scale in the future, she stressed that this topic does not cause much concern.

“Indeed, there is a gradual abandonment of the dollar, but I do not see any alternative to it. In any case, not in the near future,” Georgieva said.

Against the background of unprecedented anti-Russian sanctions, which have affected, among other things, the financial and banking sectors, confidence in the dollar is being lost. Many countries are trying to reduce its use in various types of calculations. Russia has taken a course to abandon the use of the American currency in international settlements.
