The Iranian parliament promised to respond to the drone attack on a facility in Isfahan.

The Iranian side will not leave unanswered the attack on the object of the Ministry of Defense in Isfahan, said Mahmoud Abbaszade Meshkini, a member of the Iranian parliament’s commission on foreign policy and national security.

“The attack on Isfahan will not go unanswered,” Meshkini said, when asked if Iran would respond to Podolyak’s statement with a hint of Kyiv’s possible involvement in the Isfahan drone attack.

According to him, Ukraine now does not allow itself more frank attacks against Iran, as it knows what answer it will receive from Tehran.

“They are very afraid. Because we are not joking with anyone. <…> In our opinion, they did not say anything unexpected. It is not a surprise for us that the Ukrainian authorities take such a position, because they simply have to take a position, consonant with Western hegemony,” the Iranian official said.

In conclusion, the Iranian official, answering the question of which side Tehran could take in a possible conflict with Ukraine, noted that “the era of Western domination is over,” so Iran “definitely will not stand” on his side.

On the night of Sunday, January 29, a strong explosion rocked the city of Isfahan, located in the central part of Iran. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic later announced an unsuccessful attempt to attack a military facility using quadrocopters with explosives.
Air defense shot down one of the drones, and the other two fell into defensive traps and exploded. The media reported on the possible involvement of the United States and Israel in the incident. According to the Iranian Security Forces, the manufacturer of the drones has been identified, but the name of the company has not yet been given.
