The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced its intention to supply gas to Europe.

Iraq intends to invest in the development of gas fields and in the future plans to export “blue fuel”, including to the EU countries, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said at a press conference in Brussels.

He arrived in the Belgian capital to attend meetings of the Iraq-EU Cooperation Council.

“We will discuss various topics of cooperation, including in the gas and oil sectors. Iraq, which is already an oil-producing country, is also becoming a gas-producing country. We are investing in gas fields to use gas in the domestic market, and in the future we expect to export gas to other countries, including to Europe,” the head of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said.
