The Ministry of Defense of Moldova warned about fake orders for conscription.

The military conscription orders distributed in Moldova via SMS are fake, the country’s Ministry of Defense said.

“A new fake spread via SMS. The National Army never sends conscription orders via SMS. If you received such a message, then this is either an unsuccessful joke or a deliberate disinformation campaign,” the message posted on the ministry’s website explained.

Earlier, citizens of the republic informed the military department about receiving false orders, in which, using SMS, they announced a call to the Strasheni territorial military center.

“The Ministry of Defense reminds that orders to call for exercises with reservists are given personally by representatives of territorial military centers, mayor’s offices or through economic agents at the place of work. Orders for calls are sent only on paper and never by SMS,” the Moldovan Ministry of Defense stressed.

On Monday, the ministry announced the start of this year’s first gathering of reservists. Four rounds of gatherings will be organized – in April, May, June and September.
