The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland announced plans to build barriers on the Russian-Finnish border

The Finnish government plans to build barriers on the border with Russia. It is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic

It is reported that such measures are supposed to be taken to improve the security of the country.

“The Finnish government plans to install barriers in critical areas on the eastern border with Russia,” the Finnish Interior Ministry said in a statement.

It is known that the border service of the republic will receive additional funding for the construction.

In addition, for the legal support of the process, amendments will be made to the law on border guards. Thus, Finland, according to the plans of the authorities, will fight against “threats of a hybrid nature” and “the use of the migration issue in order to exert political pressure.”

Earlier, Antti Pelttari, head of the Finnish security police SUPO, admitted in an interview that Russia does not put pressure on Finland because of the country’s desire to join NATO. The head of Finnish intelligence found this fact surprising.
