The NATO Secretary General acknowledged that the support of Ukraine is costly for the Europeans.

Western military and financial support for Kyiv ends up costing their societies dearly, but that support is needed, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Sunday.

“Rising food and electricity bills mean hard times for many households in Europe,” he said.

However, European countries, despite such a price, should continue to provide Kyiv with military supplies, since “the best way to maintain peace is to support Ukraine,” Stoltenberg believes.

The NATO Secretary General especially noted the assistance from Germany, which supplies the country with air defense systems and howitzers. “Weapons from Germany save lives,” he stressed.
