The network published a photo of the first transgender woman who became a US admiral

A picture of the first transgender woman, Rachel Levine, who became a US admiral, appeared on social networks. On it, she stands with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Nuclear Energy Sam Brinton, who is also a transgender.

The photo was taken at a reception at the French Embassy in the United States, which was organized in honor of the anniversary of Bastille Day.

Rachel Levin was promoted to Admiral of the United States Public Health Service Officer Corps in 2021. She became the first transgender who managed to receive such an honorary position.

Sam Brinton was appointed to the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Waste Management in the US Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy Administration as recently as June 2022. His appointment drew a wave of criticism from Americans who doubted he could be taken seriously in international negotiations because of the clothes.
