The death toll from the earthquake in western Turkey has risen to 93, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit western Turkey on Wednesday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said. The earthquake was recorded at 01.08 UTC. The epicenter of the tremors was located 14 kilometers southeast of the city of Duzce.

The hearth lay at a depth of six kilometers. According to preliminary data, there are no victims, classes in educational institutions of the region have been suspended. Earlier it was reported about 68 victims.

“According to the latest data available, the number of victims is 93 people,” Koca said on Twitter.
