The obligations enshrined in the Rome Statute of the ICC were recognized by the Constitutional Court of Armenia

Chairman of the Constitutional Court Armen Dilanyan stated that the Constitutional Court of Armenia recognized the obligations stipulated by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court as corresponding to the Basic Law.

“The obligations enshrined in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court signed on July 17, 1998 and the declaration on retroactive recognition of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court comply with the Constitution,” he announced the judges’ decision.


It comes into force from the moment of publication.

After the decision of the COP, the Rome Statute will have to be ratified by the Armenian Parliament.
