Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso tweeted that he had visited all areas affected by the magnitude 6.5 earthquake.

“I visited all the territories affected by the earthquake of magnitude 6.5. Together with the entire Cabinet of Ministers, we will immediately take measures in connection with this emergency,” the president wrote.

Earlier, the presidential press service reported that 14 people were killed and another 381 were injured as a result of the earthquake in Ecuador.

Aftershocks of magnitude 6.5 were recorded at a depth of 44 kilometers in the west of Ecuador. The earthquake was felt in several provinces of the country.
