The prime minister asked the Italians to become Ukrainians for an hour a day.

Prime Minister of Italy George Meloni called on the people of the country to turn off the light for an hour a day to feel the plight of Ukrainians and express solidarity with them.

“In order to understand what people are going through, I ask all Italians to turn off their energy sources for one hour a day,” the politician said.

It was a mistake to depend too much on the US for security, she added during a speech at a conference of Italian ambassadors in Rome.

“And we realize that it would be unwise to get out of dependence on Russia, giving preference to dependence on China,” the prime minister concluded.
